The main product line of surface-coating is the ORMOCER® nano paint system (trademark of the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung e.V., Munich).

ORMOCER® is unique worldwide due to its excellent scratch resistance, high optical quality and versatile functionalization.

Characteristic properties of this inorganic-organic hybrid polymer are

• Extremely high scratch resistance
• Glass character in terms of hardness and appearance
• Optical transparency and highest optical brilliance
• Extremely high adhesive strength on a variety of substrate materials
• Fully functionalizable and adaptable to individual requirements (e.g. individually colorable, water and dirt repellent, etc.)
• UV- or thermal curing
• Can be processed with all known coating methods

Available standard coatings are ready-to-use reactive one-component systems which can be handled by the user without any special problems.

Currently, the ORMOCER® coating system consists of a number of standard products (AS® and CS®) as well as additional, customer-specific product variants:

AS® V1

• Transparent scratch-resistant paint for coating PMMA, PS, SAN, ABS, etc.
• Gives plastic surfaces glass-like scratch resistance even at layer thicknesses of a few micrometers preferably used for optical components
• UV-curing
• Available as formulation for processing by dipping or flooding
• AS® VM is a highly reactive system, it can be stored for months at -18° C

AS® V2

• Transparent scratch-resistant coating with higher flexibility and media resistance for coating PMMA, PC, SAN and ABS.
• Wide range of applications
• UV-curing
• Available as formulation for processing by spraying, dipping or flooding
• Very easy to process, storable at room temperature

AS® F1

• Transparent scratch-resistant coating with high flexibility and weather resistance, preferably for coating PC
• UV-curing
• Available as formulation for processing by spraying, dipping or flooding
• Very easy to process, storable at room temperature

AS® GA2

• Scratch-resistant paint with high media resistance for durable, decorative glass and metal coating, also suitable for coating temperature-resistant plastics
• thermal curing at 130° to 180°C
• Available as formulation for processing by spraying or flooding
• coloring and adjustment of gloss level possible according to customer specifications
• AS® GA2 is a reactive system, stable for several months at -18°C
