The shape of the component, the nature of the surface, the type of material and last but not least the desired surface properties of the finished product - numerous factors determine how the coating process has to look in detail.

Cleaning and possible pre-treatment are necessary to prepare a component for an optimal coating. For the actual application of the scratch-resistant coating, standard industrial processes for wet paints are used. Particular attention must be paid to the boundary conditions that enable scratch-resistant coatings with a layer thickness of only a few µm to be applied without defects.
